Anything is Possible...

I have this dream of a successful small business that promotes positive messages in society. A type of creative outlet and community to encourage writers and dreamers on their own journey.

I tinker with this website, idea, brand...whatever we are calling it these days...every so often. I get these great pushes of energy and ideas that I am eager to create and share.

However, there is a lot of effort and intention - momentum - required to create anything into the word and sustain it. That has been my biggest obstacle in this whole process: an ability to stay committed to my ideas, inklings, and colorful view of the world.

Last summer, I dreamed up some designs that helped me express my views and values towards topics like banned books and celebrating differences in society. Some of these simple messages in my designs are inspired by the playground days of treating one another with respect. My values are nostalgic and important to me like being kind and treating others right. I think the world needs more encouragement overall.

This summer, I return to the foundation I started dreaming up last year. I am working on finalizing designs for digital downloads, stickers, reusable totes, apparel, and other ways to show off messages that matter.

Literacy Social is still becoming. It is part shop, part creative journal, part writing space, part advocacy project, and part community experiment. It is a place for bookish joy, inclusive designs, writing inspiration, and colorful reminders that words can build better futures.

I am learning as I go. I am trying to let this project grow without needing it to be perfect first. I am reminding myself that creative work does not have to arrive fully formed to be worth sharing.

So here I am, returning to the dream!

A little braver. A little clearer. A little more ready to make something real.
